❗️50% of borrowers will pay off their mortgage in Russia at the earliest at 65 years of age — Central Bank of the Russian Federation
The Central Bank has calculated the mortgage repayment age for those who took it out in 2024: half of the borrowers will repay the loan at the earliest at 65 years old. Year on year this figure increased by 14%.
At the same time, the share of those who will pay off the bank no earlier than they turn 60—67% of them turned out to be. Among the main reasons, the regulator named the extension of the payment period in order to reduce the monthly payment.
Loans for the purchase of housing are increasingly issued for maximum terms – 25-31 years, as calculated by the Bank of Russia.
