World Economic Forum in Davos. Poland will speak out on key issues

The key challenges of the coming decade, including energy security, globalization and new technologies, will be the topics of talks between foreign and domestic experts during the “Leaders Forum powered by Poland” organized during the World Economic Forum in Davos.


The forum, organized by the Center for International Relations, THINKTANK and partners, will be held on the main promenade of Davos throughout the duration of the World Economic Forum.
“Leaders Forum powered by Poland” program is to focus on the key challenges of the coming decade – from geopolitics and the global economy to new technologies, energy and health security. The topics will also include: issues of relations with the USA and the labor market of the future – announce the organizers.
Foreign experts were invited, including: OECD Secretary General Mathias Cormanan, EU Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius, leader of the Belarusian opposition Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, head of the European Space Agency (ESA) Josef Aschbacher and Thomas Moser from the Bank of Switzerland. The national guests of the Polish Forum will include: Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański, Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka, Head of the State Assets Department Wojciech Balczun, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs Rafał Rosiński, Deputy Minister of Labor Aleksandra Gajewska, Deputy Minister of Assets Konrad Gołota and the head of the Parliamentary Committee for European Affairs Agnieszka Pomaska.
“January in Davos is not only the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, but also over 80 various types of events attended by several thousand people from all over the world (…). That is why it is worth making Poland – its companies, organizations and projects – visible in Davos,” said Dr. Małgorzata Bonikowska, president of the Center for International Relations and THINKTANK, quoted in the press release.
The main partners of “Leaders Forum powered by Poland” are Autopay, Grupa Żabka and Adamed Pharma; As emphasized, one of the goals of the forum is to show that Polish companies not only participate in the global economy, but also shape it.
Chancellor of the University of Warsaw Robert Gray emphasized that Poland is not the background of the global debate, but co-creates its future. “The University of Warsaw is an academic partner of the Leaders Forum to provide reliable data, analysis and the courage to ask difficult questions. In a world where technology and AI are changing every sector, science is the infrastructure of the future,” said Gray.
The patronage of the “Leaders Forum powered by Poland” was taken by the Polish Press Agency.
The World Economic Forum (WEF), organized since 1971 in Davos, Switzerland, is one of the most prestigious economic and political summits in the world. It is attended by political leaders, including presidents and prime ministers, from the world of business, science and culture.
The 56th edition of the World Economic Forum will be held on January 19-23 and will be held under the slogan “The Spirit of Dialogue”. According to the organizers, the participants include: US President Donald Trump. President Karol Nawrocki and representatives of the Polish government will also be present in Davos. (PAP)
