Before the main wave of the spring flood, KrasKom submariners inspect siphon crossings – pipelines connecting water intakes on the islands with water supply networks on the shore.

In February-March, monitoring of the condition of the siphons in the Ladeyskaya Channel, connecting the water intakes of the Verkhniy and Nizhny Atamanovsky Islands, providing water supply to the Leninsky and part of the Kirovsky districts, has already been carried out. Diving here is carried out in early spring before navigation begins and the river opens. From this week divers “KrasKom” work on Posadny Island. In April, they will clean the bottom of the Matveevskaya channel above the water pipelines through which drinking water is supplied to residential buildings and enterprises in the Central, parts of the Zheleznodorozhny and Sovetsky districts.

The muddy water of the Yenisei hides old tires, bottles, rusty pieces of iron and other garbage thrown by townspeople from the shore and capable of damaging water pipelines.

On the first day of work in the sanitary zone of the pipelines, the guards of the siphons discovered a suspicious bag with unknown contents. And only on the shore in the sunlight they established that the find was not criminal, but an ordinary bed pillow thrown into the river by someone.

“N“Our company services 36 underwater facilities, and we must be sure that the siphons and water supply, and especially drainage, are well covered with soil, there are no cracks or other defects,” notes the general director “KrasKom” Oleg Goncherov. — To date, a visual inspection has not identified any areas in need of repair. In May, we will begin flood control work on 15 pipelines that run along the bottom of small rivers – Bugach, Kacha and Bazaikha.

Together with siphons in the Matveevskaya channel, diving specialists will check the technical condition of the ownerless dam connecting Posadny Island with Dubrovinsky Street. They will inspect the underwater part of the embankment hydraulic structure to determine the possibility of further safe operation of the only transport passage to the water intake structure.
