Edward Iordănescu (47 years old), the former selector of the Romanian national team, said what, in his opinion, is the surprise of the current season in the Super League.

The team named by Iordănescu junior was FC Argeș, which in the last stage defeated FCSB, with which they are fighting for entry into the play-off, score 1-0. The newly promoted team occupies the play-off place, 5th, with 37 points.

Edward Iordănescu: “FC Argeș is having an extraordinary season”

“We see who will be in the play-offs. FC Argeș is having an extraordinary season. It is the merit of the team, of Bogdan Andone, of Dani Coman, of Daniel Stanciu, of all those involved, of the stability of the team.

We know that a stadium will be built there too, which creates emulation. There is also a certain discomfort, that the team cannot play in its own stadium”, said Edward Iordănescu, on the show “Liga Digi Sport”.

How Edward Iordănescu sees FCSB: “They have the ability to manage the situation and come back”

FCSB is having a very poor season. The current champion is only 9th in the championship, with 31 points and is trembling for the play-offs. Edi Iordănescu is convinced that his former team has the necessary strength to enter the top 6.

“FCSB, unfortunately for them, had a bad start to the season, had fluctuations and has ground to make up. The problem is not the value, it is the same team as last year. It probably also depends on the motivation they had, the ability to remobilize.

The risk is not that they could not win these points that they need, they have among the most valuable groups, but that the pressure is extraordinary. I'm sure they have the ability to handle the situation and bounce back. A club with so many supporters is always well received in the play-offs”, said the former Romanian coach.

This job is unpredictable. Times have changed. Except for a few places, for example England, we are no longer talking about projects, but about moments that must be managed well. In England we see that there are still long-term projects with managers.

Unfortunately for football, it's a time when I'm close to family, although I wanted continuity. I really wanted to stay in Europe and turned down offers from other continents.
