Another large batch of illegal cigarettes was discovered in Krasnoyarsk

In Krasnoyarsk, police seized a batch of tobacco products from illegal circulation without the labeling required by law.

The fact of sale of counterfeit cigarettes of various names was revealed during the inspection in one of the retail outlets in the Zheleznodorozhny district. In total, 1,660 packs were found that did not have Russian excise stamps confirming the legality of their production and import into the country.

“According to preliminary estimates, the total value of the seized illegal goods was more than 216 thousand rubles. INThe owner of the outlet is a 60-year-old local resident. It was established that he purchased unlabeled products for the purpose of their further sale to consumers,” said the Krasnoyarskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man on the grounds of a crime under Part 5 of Art. 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Purchase, storage, transportation for marketing purposes or sale of products without labeling and (or) application of information provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation, committed on a large scale” and a measure of procedural coercion was chosen in the form of an obligation to appear. The person involved can be punished a fine of up to 500 thousand rubles, or forced labor or imprisonment for up to 3 years.
