Barcelona midfielder Dro Fernandez agreed with PSG for a contract valid for three and a half seasons.

The great talents of La Liga are heading to France. After the Brazilian Endrick, whom Real Madrid loaned to Olympique Lyon, it was Dro's turn to say goodbye to Barcelona. However, the Galician midfielder has decided to sign a permanent contract with Hexagon champions PSG.

PSG still has to pay Dro only the 6 million euro clause in the contract

French daily L'Equipe confirmed the transfer first announced by Mundo Deportivo on Sunday morning and reveals that the player who grew up in La Masia, Barcelona's academy, will sign a contract with the Parisians until 2030.

Dro Fernandez informed coach Hansi Flick on Saturday that he will be leaving Barcelona this transfer window and said goodbye to his teammates in the dressing room. The transfer will most likely be initialed on Mondayas soon as PSG will pay the player's release clause, set at 6 million euros.

Despite offers from Germany and England, the midfielder who has just turned 18 has decided on Ligue 1 and PSG. Barcelona intended to extend his contract, which expires on July 1, 2027, but he felt that the competition in midfield was too great and his chances of playing were slim.

Coach Luis Enrique doesn't know, he doesn't answer

The coach of PSG, Luis Enrique, was asked after the victory with Lille (3-0) about the possibility of Dro Fernandez arriving in Paris this winter, but the Spanish technician took “no” in his arms: “I don't know, I don't answer”.

Barcelona has been, in recent years, an important source of top players for the Parisians. In 2017, they took Neymar from the Catalans for 222 million euros, the most expensive move in football history. In 2021, they transferred Lionel Messi, for free, and in 2023, Ousmane Dembele, for 50 million euros.
