The mysterious death of a Russian businessman. He went missing a few days earlier

According to preliminary information from investigators from Cyprus, the cause of the businessman's death was probably an accident, although – as the Cypriot portal Philonews writes – “any possible cause of death cannot be ruled out.” His body was found in a mountain gorge on the south coast. As Fontanka recalls, Baumgertner was an amateur mountain climber, and on the day he planned the trip, there was supposed to be a strong wind in this part of the island. Earlier, when the Russian was wanted, conspiracy theories emerged after just a day after Baumgertner's disappearance, the body of a diplomat — Alexei Panov, the third secretary of the embassy in Nicosia — was found on the premises of the Russian embassy in Nicosia.
