Naples recorded the third consecutive draw in Serie A, after 0-0 with ParmaChivu's former team, at home, in a match remaining from the 16th stage. Scott McTominay had a goal disallowed at the beginning of the game, for an offside, and the hosts' pressure did not bear fruit. This result means Inter can move six points clear of Napoli, if they beat Lecce.
The first half was disappointing for Napoli. The home side scored in the 11th minute though, through Scott McTominay, who restarted from a few yards out.
However, the goal was disallowed after the intervention of VAR, due to an extremely borderline offside by Mazzocchi, prior to the phase.
Helping hand for Inter and Chivu! Parma kept Napoli in check
In the 27th minute, Buongiorno came close to a goal when he headed in a Lang cross, but debutant Rinaldi reacted superbly to deny. In one of the following phases, the Parma goalkeeper also blocked a shot by Hojlund.
In the second half, Napoli's pressure was even lower. Early in the second half, the hosts claimed a penalty for a possible handball in the box after a McTominay volley. The replays did not show the situation very clearly, but Circati seems to have played the ball more with his chest.
In the 55th minute, Cutrone blocked a dangerous volley shot by Lang. Rrahmani also missed an opportunity and Napoli were unable to beat Rinaldi, who had another very good debut and was named man of the match.
Following this result, Napoli remains in 3rd place in Serie A, with 40 points after 20 stages. Inter moves to 6 points in case of a success with Lecce.
On the other side, Parma is 14th with 22 points.
