The future European men's handball champion will collect a total of 568,000 euros from the EHF for the gold medal. The EURO 2026 final tournament is played between January 15 and February 1, in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.

The 24 teams divided into 6 groups of 4 formations each will receive from the European Federation 100,000 euros for qualification to the final tournament.

The European champion will be awarded 468,000 euros
More money is obtained by the teams that will qualify in the semi-finals and then fight for the European title. The future European champion will receive a bonus of 468,000 eurosand the silver medalist has the sum of 271,000 euros insured.
Whoever loses the semi-final and wins the bronze medal will be awarded with 122,000 euros, and the 4th place will go home with 75,000 euros. The main favorite to win the European title is the world champion, Denmark, quoted with 1.35 for the gold medal.
The best players in the world are followed by Sweden with odds of 7.00 and France with 9.00. According to the media in Germany, for the world title won last year, Denmark was awarded 500,000 euros by the IHF.
The German players negotiated with the national federation the premiums for EURO 2026
The German Handball Federation (DHB) has announced that it will award with 600,000 eurosthe national team, if it becomes European champion. The amount was negotiated by the DHB management with 3 of the team leaders: Johannes Golla, Julian Kostner and Andreas Wolff.
If they lose the final, German players will receive 430,000 eurosand if they get the bronze medals they will be awarded 300,000 euros. For the 4th place, the German athletes have a bonus of 190,000 euros, and for the 5th place, 100,000 euros.
Handball players trained by Icelander Alfred Gislason (66 years old) also receive money for exiting the groups, 75,000 euros if they get maximum points, 6, and 50,000 euros, if they do not win all 3 games.

Germany is the Olympic runner-up in Paris 2024 and last won the European title in 2016. At EURO 2026 they are rated with the 6th chance to win the gold medal., with odds of 25.00.

- Group D: Montenegro, Slovenia, Switzerland, Faroe Islands – (Baerum, Norway);
- Group E: Croatia, Georgia, Netherlands, Sweden – (Malmo, Sweden);
- Group F: Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Poland – (Kristianstad, Sweden).
