Renata Zarazua, a tennis player from Mexico, suffered severe sunburn during a tournament in Australia, just days before the start of the Grand Slam in Melbourne. The incident highlights the difficult conditions athletes can face.

The first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open, promises to be a challenge for the athletes, not only from a competitive point of view, but also because of the weather conditions. The strong Australian sun can cause serious problems, even when the temperatures are not extreme.

Currently, the athlete is participating in the WTA tournament in Hobart, where she managed to qualify for the round of 16. Afterwards, Zarazua will turn her attention to the Australian Open, scheduled for January 18 to February 1, where she will try to secure a place in the main draw.

In the last week, in Hobart, Tasmania, where the player participated in the last tournament, it was about 22 degrees, and in Melbourne, on the Australian continent, there were temperatures between 24 and 43 degrees.

In the last 16 in Hobart, Renata Zarazua was defeated by Iva Jovic 6-2, 6-1 on Wednesday.

Renata Zarazua came to the attention of the public in August last year, when she defeated Madison Keys. According to thesun.co.uk, she thus became the first player from Mexico since 1995 to defeat a WTA top 10 favorite at a Grand Slam tournament.
