US President Donald Trump announced on Monday the imposition of a 25% tariff in the US on any country that trades with Iran, amid Tehran's violent crackdown on the wave of protests that swept through the Middle Eastern country, AFP and Reuters write.

“Starting now, any country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will pay a 25% tariff on any and all trades with the United States of America,” Trump said in a message posted on his Truth Social social network.

“This order is final and without appeal. Thank you for your attention to this matter,” the White House leader added.
