At the beginning of January, a bailiff appeared at Lidl's headquarters – this information was obtained by the “Wiadomości Handlowe” website. Biedronka accuses Lidl that its advertisements may have misled customers, and the court agreed to secure evidence. The case could have serious consequences for both companies.

As “Wiadomości Handlowe” found out, Biedronka suspects that Lidl used Google reviews in the “I shop in my Lidl” campaign in a way that could have distorted the actual image of its advantage over the competition.

According to “Wiadomości Handlowe”, the District Court in Poznań agreed to secure evidence, including reviews, data analysis methodology and the history of prompts used in AI. Biedronka wants to check whether Lidl compared its results with other chains and whether the presented data did not mislead customers.
Jeronimo Martins Polska is planning a lawsuit in which it will demand a ban on Lidl advertising using Google reviews. He also wants Lidl to publish an apology for “unfair and misleading advertising” if the court accepts Biedronka's arguments.

For now, the court has not resolved the dispute on the merits – evidence is being secured. If the case goes to court, it may affect the way both networks conduct advertising campaigns. This is the next stage of the price and image war that has been going on for years.
As “Wiadomości Handlowe” reminds, in August 2025, a bailiff appeared at the headquarters of Jeronimo Martins Polska to seize other advertising materials regarding price comparisons in stores.
Both chains have been fighting for the title of the cheapest and most attractive for customers for years, and aggressive advertising campaigns only heat up the atmosphere.
