Petrolul decided to loan the Cameroonian Jerome Onguene to Eyupspor, in the first Turkish league, who will thus become a colleague of Denis Radu, who was also transferred by Ploiești to the same club a few days ago. GSP presents you exclusively with the details of the transfer.
After selling Denis Radu on loan to Eyupspor until the end of the season, information presented exclusively by GSP, Petrolul makes another move in the same direction, also mediated by agent Cengiz Erten.
It is now about the Cameroonian stopper Jerome Onguene, whom the Ploiesti had recruited in the summer as a free player, after he had settled the accounts with Eintracht Frankfurt II. The footballer is still in the “Wolves” training camp, but he will soon leave Antalya to join his new club.
Free loan until the summer, then Petrol has priority for the contract extension option

The player's agent, Cengiz Erten, confirmed the transaction for GSP: “It is true that Onguene will go to Eyupspor. On Monday he will have a medical visit in Istanbul. As in the case of Denis Radu, it is an opportunity for him to evolve in a stronger championship and prove his value displayed throughout his career. We thank Petrolul for understanding the context and together we have found a solution from which all parties can win.”
Specifically, Petrolul will take Onguene on a free loan until the summer, after which he will have priority to possibly exercise his contract extension option for another year on a higher salary, as stipulated in the African footballer's current commitment.
In the four months spent in the “yellow-blue”, he collected 393 minutes in 6 matches, being started in four games: two in L1 (Oțelul 0-0, FCSB 1-1) and two in the Romanian Cup (UTA 1-1, U Craiova 0-4).

Onguene has an absolutely outstanding resume. He was European U19 champion with the French national team in 2016, when he played alongside Mbappe, Thuram or Dembele. Later, he chose to play for the first national team of his native country, Cameroon: 10 caps/0 goals in the period 2018-2022.
Trained in Sochaux's Academy, he then spent time at Stuttgart, Genoa, Frankfurt, Servette and Red Bull Salzburg. With the latter he won 5 titles and 4 Austrian Cups, plus 21 games in the Champions League and Europa League. He also won the Swiss Cup with Servette.
In 2018, Salzburg paid 2 million euros to acquire him. Currently, his share on the specialized portal transfermarkt.com is 150,000 euros.
