The American leader renewed his threat against the Iranian regime, announcing a decisive response in the event of brutal repression of protesters. “If Iran starts killing protesters, the United States will respond with a decisive attack,” he warned. Despite these declarations, reports of fatalities among protesters have already emerged. According to the BBC, at least 20 people died in clashes with security forces.
The situation in Iran is attracting the attention of international public opinion. The protests that broke out less than two weeks ago are among the largest in years and pose a serious challenge to Khamenei's regime.
