Trump was asked what he thinks Europe should do regarding Ukraine.
“Europe has done so much for Ukraine, but it was not enough. And obviously, I would say that President Putin is not afraid of Europe, but of the United States of America. Under my leadership. There is no fear of Europe,” the American president responded.
According to Trump, Europe has “become a different place” and it “needs to pull itself together.”
“I'll just say, to put it politely, that there are certain places in Europe that are important that are no longer recognizable,” the White House chief said.
In particular, Trump, who has “roots in Europe,” criticized its immigration policies and transition to “green” energy (“they put windmills everywhere and lose a fortune”).
Context
Trump has repeatedly said he has “always had a great relationship” with Putin. But after he failed to quickly reach a peace agreement to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war, the US president began to say he was disappointed with Putin.
At the beginning of December last year, Putin said that the aggressor country of the Russian Federation is “ready right now” for war with Europe, threatening that “a situation could very quickly arise in which there will be no one to negotiate with.”
