The Michelin Guide has made a list of “the best places to travel in 2026 for food lovers”, explaining that major events such as, for example, the World Cup in the summer, serve as catalysts for some destinations.

On the list for 2026, when the US will celebrate 250 years of independence, there are both the cities of Boston and Philadelphia, as well as the famous Route 66, where many of the restaurants and motels located on the highway of almost 4,000 kilometers are renovated especially for the anniversary moment.

A top choice is also the southern part of the United States, where Michelin has selected 159 restaurants in destinations from Atlanta to North Carolina to Tennessee, notes CNN.

Attention is also turning to Vancouver and its seafood, as one of the cities that will host the World Cup this summer. Quebec's French-influenced cuisine is also mentioned, including Montreal bagels.

In Italy, the Winter Olympics brought new infrastructure and ambitious alpine cuisine to the Dolomites. Other destinations mentioned are Venice and the Amalfi Coast.

Also highlighted from Europe are the Czech Republic, including the famous spa town of Karlovy Vary, a UNESCO heritage site, and Poland, with its vibrant city of Wroclaw. Also in the Michelin guide are 18 restaurants in Cappadocia, Turkey.
