All schools in Bistrita, also closed on Friday due to the blizzard

The Bistrita-Năsăud County Committee for Emergency Situations decided to suspend classes in all schools in the municipality for Friday, January 9.

The Bistrița-Năsăud County Committee for Emergency Situations has decided that all educational units in Bistrița municipality will remain closed on Friday, January 9, as a preventive measure in the context of the heavy snowfall and severe weather conditions forecast in the following days.
The announcement was made on Thursday afternoon, through a statement published on the Facebook page of Bistrita-Năsăud Prefecture, which provides full details about the reason for the decision.
“The Prefect's Institution of Bistrita-Năsăud County informs that, in the context unfavorable weather conditions predicted for the next 24-48 hours, an extraordinary meeting of the Bistrita-Năsăud County Committee for Emergency Situations was convened.
Following the analysis of the situation and the assessment of the risks generated by the evolution of meteorological phenomena, it was decided to suspend classes with physical presence in all educational units within the radius of the municipality of Bistriţa, for January 9, 2026.
The decision is based on the meteorological warning issued by the National Meteorological Administration – code yellow -, which announces precipitation predominantly in the form of snow, the deposition of a layer of snow, the formation of ice, intensification of the wind, low temperatures and freezing conditions. The warning is valid between January 8, 10:00 a.m. and January 10, 10:00 a.m.,” sent the Prefecture.
The county authorities emphasize that the measure was adopted for the safety of students, teachers and auxiliary staff, as well as for the prevention of risk situations generated by severe weather.
