School courses will be suspended, Thursday and Friday, in six educational units from Hunedoara, Mehedinti and Sălaj counties, due to interruptions in the supply of electricity and heating or impassable roads, the Ministry of Education announces.
“According to the data provided by the county school inspectorates, due to unfavorable weather conditions, which caused interruptions in the supply of electricity/heating agent/impassable roads, on January 8 and 9, 2026, classes with physical presence will be suspended in six educational units in Hunedoara, Mehedinți and Sălaj counties,” the Ministry of Education informed on Wednesday evening.
According to the ministry's announcement, it is about General Berthelot Primary School and Răchitova High School in Hunedoara County, Balta High School in Mehedinţi County and High School No. 1 Marca, Glod Primary School and Mihai Viteazu Technological High School from Zalău, Sălaj county.
The Ministry also specifies that the information is the one received until 16:00 and will be updated depending on the evolution of the situation and the decisions taken at the county level.
Also, the Administrative Councils of the educational units in the situation of suspending the didactic activity will establish measures regarding the recovery of course hours.
