In an interview with CBS News, lawyer Mark Furnich notes that the presence of such dangerous criminals may influence the future fate of the deposed dictator. If Maduro ends up in solitary confinement in the future, according to the expert, it will be for this sole purpose ensuring his safety or preventing possible suicide.
Nicolas Maduro has already appeared before the American justice system, where he faces four serious charges. The indictment includes: participation in narco-terrorist conspiracyimporting cocaine into the United States and two counts of illegal possession of a firearm.
The deposed politician firmly pleads not guilty. During his appearance before the judge, he declared his innocence and argued for his honesty. — I am a decent man, the president of my country Maduro said, adding that he was captured in his private home in Caracas.
