On Tuesday, January 6, the meteorologists of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) forecast a day with predominantly cloudy skies, but temperatures increasing compared to the previous day, especially in the south and southeast. The thermal values will be higher than the average of the period, despite the traditional expectations related to the “frost” specific to Epiphany.
In Banat, Crișana and Maramureș, mixed precipitation is expected, consisting of rain, sleet and local snow throughout the day. At night, the snow will intensify in some areas, with the formation of a layer of snow.
In Transylvania and in small areas of Moldova, it will rain during the day, and sleet and snow are possible at night.
In the rest of the regions, there will be local precipitation, with isolated amounts of water estimated between 10 and 20 l/m2, and local precipitation may be recorded, with a risk for traffic.
The wind will blow weak and moderate, with local intensifications, especially in the southeast. The maximum temperatures will vary between -1 and 11 degrees, and in the south-east of Muntenia and in Dobrogea values of up to 15-17 degrees will be recorded. The minimums will be between -4 and 6 degrees, with higher values in Dobrogea.
Yellow fog code
ANM issued a yellow code warning for fog, valid on Tuesday morning, in the counties Olt, Vâlcea, Brăila, Ialomița, Calarasi, Ilfov, Galati, Vaslui, Constanta and Tulcea
Weather conditions may reduce visibility and affect road traffic, which is why motorists are advised to drive with caution.
In the capital
In Bucharest, the sky will be predominantly cloudy, with possible light rain or passing drizzle. Winds will be light to moderate and temperatures will range between 2-3 degrees at night and around 7 degrees during the day. In the morning and at night, fog is forecast.
