Move to the end of Mercato and to Craiova University: Borrowed in Superliga

CS University of Craiova announced that David Barbu (19 years old) will evolve this season to Ato Arad, being ceded in the form of a loan. The young midfielder checked only 4 appearances for the Oltenians in this Super Light season.
Barbu has evolved in all 4 matches of the U19 representative of Romania at the European Championship of 2025, managing to score 3 goals, one in the victories with Montenegro (score 2-1) and Denmark (score 3-0) and in the failure with the Netherlands (score 1-3).

Craiova University announced in an official statement the relief in the form of David Barbu at UTA Arad. The youth international will evolve under the command of Adrian Mihalcea this season.

David Barbu debuted at the University of Craiova in the previous season, in which he checked 16 matches. The young midfielder then managed a goal, with Dinamo in the last stage of the play-off, in the victory with a score of 2-1. After a solid performance at the European U19 Championship this summer, Barbu has not received many minutes from Mirel Rădoi this season. The midfielder checked 8 minutes in the victory with FC Argeș, score 3-1, 31 minutes in the away victory with CFR Cluj, score 3-2, 23 minutes in success with Ploiești Petrol, score 2-0, and 31 minutes in the last stage of Superliga, in the trailer with FC Botoșani, score 1-1.
Aged 19, with a height of 1.90 m and versatile offensive profile, David Barbu comes to strengthen our team's lot! For a short time, UTA and Craiova University have initiated the player's loan until the end of the current season.
Barbu arrives in Arad after the remarkable developments at the international junior level this summer. The striker raised by the Craiova University Academy scored no less than 3 goals in the four matches by the Romanian U19 national at Euro 2025.
