In addition to meeting with the head of the Special Operations Center “A” of the SBU, Yevgeny Khmara, the President also held separate negotiations with Major General of the Special Service Alexander Poklad, the first deputy head of the Special Operations Center “A” Brigadier General Denis Kilimnik, and Colonel of the Security Service Vasily Kozak.
Zelensky held these meetings after the previous head of the SBU, Vasily Malyuk, announced his resignation.
The media asked Lytvyn whether all of these intelligence service representatives with whom Zelensky held negotiations are being considered as candidates for the position of head of the SBU.
“Yes, it is the president who determines what the current potential of the SBU is, what to pay more attention to, who to strengthen and what areas should be strengthened. The president held a little more meetings than we reported, these were such that the content deserves attention. Well, there are no photos, because these are, after all, the SBU and special employees,” answered Zelensky’s adviser.
Later, a presidential decree was published appointing Khmara as acting head of the SBU.
