Nightmare moments for Valencia, after the defeat against Ionuț Radu's team

Valencia clearly lost, score 1-4, away to Celta Vigo on Saturday night, and the fans gave members of their team's delegation a nightmare welcome back in the city after their round of 18 defeat in the Spanish league.

Valencia suffered a stinging defeat against Ionuț Radu's team, thus remaining in the relegation zone from La Liga. On the delegation's return to the city, angry fans greeted the players at the airport and spirits immediately heated up.

Valencia, nightmare reception after the woeful failure

Upon the delegation's return, approximately 300 Bats supporters gathered to express their displeasure. In their crosshairs was coach Carlos Corberán, who they asked to resign, while the players were also heavily criticized for the team's performance.

Furthermore, the fans threw numerous objects at the coach carrying the team members, which resulted in breaking a window of the vehicle.

Valencia's statement, after the nightmare reception at the airport

After the incidents at the airport, Valencia officials sent a statement on social media.

“Valencia would like to express its understanding for the disappointment of our supporters. However, the club deeply regrets the incident that took place when the team arrived at the airport, in which one of the windows of the coach was broken.

Such acts of violence could cause bodily harm to players or members of the technical staff. Valencia strongly condemns any form of violence”, the “bats” declared in a statement, quoted by sportal.gr.
