Magyar told the participants that his formation will “protect Hungary from illegal migration, reduce taxes and increase pensions”assuring at the same time that he will represent all Hungarians, regardless of age, party affiliation or residence, reports MTI, quoted by Agerpres,

The Tisza leader called the party's foreign-born candidates to the stage and harshly criticized Janos Lazar, the Minister of Construction and Transport, for questioning the Hungarian origins of Viktoria Strompova, an ethnic Hungarian Tisza candidate from Slovakia.

Peter Magyar also accused Fidesz of “trthe addition of Hungarians from Transylvania” and the open support of a Romanian presidential candidate who hates Hungarians.

“What will it take for (Hungarian Prime Minister) Viktor Orban to finally take a stand and stand up to Robert Fico (Slovak Prime Minister, ed.) – who is truly Slovak and truly socialist – when he threatens to jail those who criticize the Benes Decrees, which collectively stigmatize Hungarians?”the Hungarian opposition politician asked himself.

Historic change on the political scene in Hungary

We remind you that a poll conducted at the end of October indicates a historic change on the Hungarian political scene: the Tisza party, led by Péter Magyar, leads Fidesz by 48% to 37%.

However, even if Viktor Orbán were to lose the parliamentary elections in 2025, the system he has built over the past 15 years seems designed to survive.
