Rapid surprisingly lost at home, score 0-2in front of those from Oțelul Galați, in the 20th stage of the Superliga, and Costel Gâlcă, the Giulești technician, put the “guns” on arbitration at the end of the game in Giulești.

Steel played an almost perfect match and managed to beat Rapid right in her fiefdom. The Moldovans opened the scoring in the 17th minute, through Nuno Pedro, and Paul Iacob closed the scoreboard in the 80th minute.

Costel Gâlcă disputes the refereeing: “For me, there are clear penalties!”

At the end of the game, the Rapid technician was extremely dissatisfied with the performance of the referee, claiming two controversial phases from which the Giulio team could have benefited from kicks from 11 meters:

“I said before that the Steel have very good players and that the game will be decided in the wings or in the middle. They were better in the first half and scored and we didn't create clear chances, especially before the break.

We started well, with Koljic's opportunity, but it was not to be. I think the referees too, not necessarily in this match, but what happened in the game with Csikszereda was wrong. I don't take away from the credit of the opponent, but for me there are clear penalties: both to Koljic and to Kramer. Why do we still have VAR?”, declared Gâlcă.

“I'm worried about the refereeing in the last stages”

The coach of Rapid continued his tirade against the referee, emphasizing that his team did not benefit from favorable decisions in the matches recently played at home.

“I'm worried about the refereeing in the last stages. When I came “home” we never talked about referees, but on home ground it's a different kind of refereeing. For some, VAR judges differently. I'm curious when we will also benefit from a penalty”, added the technician.

The coach of Rapid believes that his goalkeeper could have done more for the second goal: “Aioani could have scored the second goal”

Costel Gâlcă also analyzed the phase of the second goal, admitting that goalkeeper Marian Aioani could have intervened better.

“Iacob's goal was one that Aioani could pull off, but it happens again. It was a good moment for us to break away in the standings, but we knew it wasn't going to be an easy game.”

In the end, the coach of Rapid looked towards the next match, the derby with FCSB, stressing that his team must look completely different.

“We have to have a much better game with FCSB. They are an important team and have shown in the European cups that they have quality and can come back. We will see what happens with the squad as well.

I don't know who will leave in the winter. All players are ours while they are here“, said Constantin Gâlcă, Rapid's coach.

The Steel was an aggressive team that plays up front. They are a good team and that's it. We are analyzing and we have to win the next game.
We are upset, but from tomorrow we focus on the match against FCSB and we have to win it.
