The brain can choose between good and bad: neurologist Constantin Dulcan explains how our words and thoughts influence us

The brain does not only work based on impulses, but also through moral conscience, explains renowned neurologist Constantin Dulcan. The choice between good and bad, he says, is directly influenced by the words and emotions we cultivate every day.

During the show “For life hide and seek” from Antena 3 CNN, the professor explained how the brain makes a triage between words, feelings and behaviors, insisting on the importance of language and inner state for our health.
“Words have frequency. Words that mean joy, understanding, generosity, compassion, empathy have a much higher frequency and are good for health. Words that mean hate, contempt, irony, aggression have a low frequency,” claims neurologist Constantin Dulcan.

The professor pointed out that this differentiation at the brain level is not only symbolic, but has direct biological effects.
“Words that have a favorable role for our health are processed in a different place than words that have a harmful effect, unfavorable to health”, explains the specialist.
The teacher explained how the brain processes positive and negative.
“If we are right-handed, for example, then the useful part, favorable to health, is processed at the level of the prefrontal area, and the other, negative part, at the level of the right frontal lobe”, he specified this one.
Constantin Dulcan recognized the difficulty of understanding how a structure of “meat” can make the moral selection.
“And then my question was: What is the piece of meat? How can it make a choice between yes and no, between good and bad? It was a big question. And then, of course, I thought that we have to admit that there is a consciousness above the brain that has a moral role.” claims the doctor.
Constantin Dulcan is a neurologist and psychiatrist, university professor and one of the best-known voices in Romania who have addressed the connection between science, consciousness and spirituality. He became known to the general public for the accessible way in which he explains the workings of the brain and the relationship between thought, emotions and health.
He is the author of the volume “Intelligence of matter”, published for the first time in 1981, in which he proposes the idea that matter is not inert, but carries a form of intelligence, and the universe operates according to principles that connect man to the cosmos – a work considered brave for the era in which it appeared.
