Several flights experienced significant delays or were canceled this evening at Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, according to information displayed on the airport's website.
Contacted by HotNews, Teodor Postelnicu, the spokesperson of Compania Nationale Aeroporturi Bucharest, stated that the main causes of the delays are the unfavorable weather conditions in several European countries, including France, Holland, Italy and Germany.
“There are also situations of aircraft rotation, i.e. planes that arrive late and depart, in turn, late,” explained Postelnicu.
According to him, at least one flight was cancelled, namely a flight to Amsterdam. Also, a flight operated by HiSky to Tel-Aviv, on Saturday, from 20.00, did not take off according to the original schedule, being rescheduled for Sunday.
Another notable case is that of the flight to Hurghada, which registered “a very long delay of approximately 10 hours”, caused by “a technical problem with the aircraft”, according to the representative of CN Aeroporturi Bucharest.
Passengers are advised to check the status of flights directly with the air operators and follow the updates displayed by the airport.
