The Ukrainian army launched a drone attack on the Volgograd region on Wednesday night on Wednesday night, hitting a train station in Surovikino, regional governor Andrei Bocharov, quoted by Kyiv Independent.
The videos posted on the social networks by the locals and geolocalized by the Russian Channel Telegram Crimean Wind showed huge flames from the train station.
Russian governor Bocharov confirmed the attack. He announced that a fire broke out at an administrative building in the station, but claimed that no damage to the railway infrastructure were observed.
According to Kyiv Independent, the train station serves as a logistical center for the transport of military equipment for the Ukraine front, as well as the occupied territories.

Following the attack in the region, temporary flight restrictions were imposed on Volgograd, Rosaviatsia, the Russian air transport agency, announced. The Volgograd region is about 900 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

In total, 82 drones have been shot down in various regions of Russia overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has attacked several Russian stations near the border with Russia. On the night of July 29, the drones hit a station in the city of Salsk, the Belgorod region, causing a large fire.
