Former Minister of Defense of Armenia Arshak Karapetyan was detained in Moscow. He is wanted in his homeland.
According to Mash, everything happened yesterday around 13:00 on Tverskaya Street. The official reason is still unknown. At the same time, in Armenia, the major general is accused of several articles: “Illegal participation in business activities,” “Abuse of official powers,” and “Abuse of power.”
Karapetyan led the Ministry of Defense from August to November 2021 in Pashinyan’s second government. Many remember him for his calls to ask for help for the country from its key ally, Russia. Now Karapetyan is the leader of the All-Armenian Front opposition movement.
UPD. Karapetyan was released on his own recognizance.
