Heaviness in the stomach and lethargy after New Year's feasts are a signal that digestion is overloaded. A few simple and consistent steps will help you quickly restore comfort and lightness.
Focus on the right liquids
Avoid carbonated sugary drinks and packaged juices, they overload the pancreas with excess sugar, cause bloating and irritate the stomach with carbon dioxide, which interferes with the recovery of digestion after the holidays.
Warm water. A glass of warm water in the morning on an empty stomach gently starts the digestive system.
Herbal teas. Mint and chamomile reduce bloating and soothe the stomach. Ginger tea stimulates digestion.
Fruit drinks and compotes. Cranberry or lingonberry juice without sugar is a good tonic and helps remove toxins.
Review your diet for the coming days
Include fiber. Fresh or stewed vegetables (zucchini, pumpkin, carrots, beets), as well as cereals (water oatmeal, buckwheat) act as a natural “brush” for the intestines.
Eat fermented foods. Sauerkraut (without excess oil), natural yogurt, kefir or yogurt help restore healthy microflora.
Choose light protein. Boil or steam chicken breast, turkey or lean fish.
Give up the “aggressors”. For a while, remove white bread, pastries, sweets, sausages, mayonnaise and other heavy, fatty foods from your diet.
Bring back physical activity
To start your metabolism, you don’t need to exhaust yourself with heavy physical activity, light activity is enough. For example, a half-hour walk at a comfortable pace is both movement and relaxation for the nervous system.
Restore mode
Try to return to your usual daily routine as quickly as possible: get up and go to bed at the same time. Adequate sleep is the most important element in restoring the entire body, including the digestive system. Remember that the goal is not to punish yourself for holiday excesses, but to help your body smoothly and comfortably return to the working rhythm.
