Almost 90% of flights scheduled to take off from Milan Bergamo Airport were delayed or canceled on Saturday night due to bad weather and technical problems, according to information obtained by HotNews.
A HotNews source on the scene said the dense fog severely affected airport operations, and airport officials also reported technical problems at airport facilities.
Among the flights affected are flights operated by Ryanair and Wizz Air to Bucharest, Timisoara and Chisinau, which have been postponed.
The Ryanair flight to Bucharest was eventually cancelled.

The situation in Milan Bergamo comes in the context where, on the same evening, several flights were also delayed or canceled at Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, against the backdrop of unfavorable weather conditions in several European countries, as previously reported by HotNews.
Milan Bergamo Airport is one of the main low-cost hubs in Europe and is intensively used by Romanians, especially for air connections with Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
Airport authorities advise passengers to check flight status directly with airlines before traveling to the airport.
