Morocco, favorite to host the next edition of the Club World Championship

Morocco is the favorite country to host the Club World Championship in 2029.

The competition will take place in 2029, one year before the World Cup, which will also be played in Portugal and Spain. The hosting of the tournament on the territory of Morocco would represent a test before the World Cup.

Morocco, host for the Club World Cup?

Morocco is seen as a big favorite to host the Club World Cupwhich premiered last summer in the United States, according to Le Desk.

This is due to the fact that the organization of the African Cup competition left good impressions and demonstrated that, in terms of infrastructure, the country is well equipped with numerous modern stadiums. The current edition of the African continental tournament takes place in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

  • It should be noted that Morocco will also host the World Championship in 2030, along with Portugal and Spain. It will be a special edition, considering it is 100 years since the first final tournament. The first games of this edition will be played in South America, more precisely in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay, and the rest of the games will take place in the three states previously mentioned. Thus, 3 continents will host matches in the 2030 edition.

The same source mentions that FIFA should announce a decision soon, at a time when only five of the 32 participants are known.

Teams already qualified for the 2029 Club World Championship:

The 2029 FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled to take place from 14 June to 13 July 2029. It will mark the 22nd edition of the FIFA Club World Cup and the second under the new format, with 32 clubs representing six continental confederations taking part.

The Hassan II stadium, in Casablanca, would be the largest in the world, and the builders estimate that it will be ready in 2028. He would invest two billion dollars in a project that has no rival worldwide. It should eventually accommodate 115,000 people. For more details about this stadium go HERE.

The plan is for the stadium to host matches at the 2030 World Cup, but should it be ready in time, it will likely also host matches at the Club World Cup.
