The occupiers launched drones (Shahed, “Gerberas” and other types) from the areas of the Russian settlements of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo, as well as temporarily occupied Crimea (Chauda, Gvardeisky) and Donetsk.
Of all the drones, according to the PS, 130 were Shahed.
As of 8.30, the air defense had shot down/neutralized 176 UAVs. 24 drones hit 15 locations, the military noted.
Massive drone strikes on New Year's Eve were reported in the Odessa and Volyn regions.
Context
Russia attacks Ukrainian populated areas every day with missiles, bombs and drones. As UA War Infografics noted, during 2025 there were only four days when the Russian Federation did not fire missiles and Shahed at Ukraine (two days in April and two in May).
