In the city of Blagoveshchensk, the Amur Region, the Hero of the Soviet Union Egorov Pavel Vasilievich was born in the family of a working quarry.
In the period from 1938 to 1941, he worked as a pilot-instructor of the Amur and Birobidzhan flyers. In 1940 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army. After graduating from a military school, pilots served in the troops in the Far East and the Urals.
On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War since May 1942. He took an active part on the defeat of the enemy in the Rzhevsky, Vyazemsky, Orlovsky, Yelnyansky, Smolensk-Roslavl and Orsha-Vitebsk directions.
In total, over the years of the war, he made 149 successful sorties. The exploits of P.V. Egorov were awarded 24 thanks of the Supreme Commander -in -Chief.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 26, 1944, for the excellent implementation of combat missions on the front of the fight against German invaders, for heroism and courage in battle, for the clear organization of combat work, Captain Egorov Pavel Vasilievich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin (No. 21050) and the Golden Star medal (No. 4859).
After the war, he held command posts in the air forces of the Northern Group of Troops and the Far Eastern Military District. In August 1959, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was dismissed and moved to the city of Angarsk Irkutsk Region, where he worked as part of a military representative office on the acceptance of products of the petrochemical plant.
He died on March 9, 1989. He was buried in Angarsk of the Irkutsk region.
