Where the world's richest people like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg spend New Year's Eve

As the year draws to a close, the world's richest people are once again on the move aboard private jets and superyachts, bound for a familiar array of ultra-exclusive vacation spots, Business Insider reports.

Island of St. Barts in the Caribbean attracts tycoons, celebrities and their entourages to an island where nightly rates in the tens of thousands of dollars are commonplace.

From a bustling harbor of veritable floating mansions to invitation-only beach parties and fireworks over Gustavia, the capital of St. Barts, the island has become the unofficial end-of-the-year meeting place for the richest 0.001% of the planet's inhabitants.

Elsewhere, a few luxury enclaves like Antigua and Cabo San Lucas round out the rest of the vacation map.

Jeff Bezos was spotted with his wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos in the famous resort of Aspen in the state of Colorado for Christmas, but it is possible that the two are heading to the Caribbean.
