Mayor of Krasnoyarsk Sergei Vereshchagin was presented with a new technology for pothole repair of roads. The demonstration of the equipment took place on May 18 on Kalinin Street.
For repairs, a special machine is used that can operate at temperatures from plus 5 degrees. It has two bunkers. One is for emulsion, the second is for crushed stone.
First, the installation blows out the pit, clearing it of dust and debris. Then a mixture of crushed stone and emulsion is fed into the damaged area. At the last stage, the repair site is covered with fine crushed stone. This coating allows you to open traffic faster. Fine crushed stone prevents the mixture from sticking to car wheels.
“The new equipment is equipped with a more powerful compressor. Due to this, pothole repair can be completed approximately twice as fast. One machine load is enough for about 100 sq. meters of repair,” Yulia Zamaraeva, press secretary of SATP JSC.
Earlier, Sergei Vereshchagin ordered to strengthen control over road work in Krasnoyarsk and revise the requirements for asphalt quality taking into account the Siberian climate.
