VTB demonstrated the operation of a Russian ATM with enhanced crypto protection

VTB will demonstrate the operation of a Russian-made ATM with enhanced cryptographic protection.
The presentation will take place as part of the Finopolis 2025 forum. ATMs manufactured to a special order from VTB will gradually replenish the bank's fleet of devices, replacing foreign solutions.
“In the near future, NOBEX ATMs will begin to gradually expand the bank’s fleet of devices, as existing solutions become obsolete and decommissioned. The devices have enhanced cryptographic protection, which was developed during
direct interaction with VTB specialists,” said Vadim Kulik, Deputy President and Chairman of the Board of VTB.
NOBEX ATMs have all the necessary certifications from the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, and are also included in the register of domestic electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. ATM security is ensured by three critical components: a system for online updating of currency templates to protect against counterfeit bills, a Russian PIN keyboard and the only certification center in Russia to ensure cryptographic standards for self-service devices.
“It is extremely important for us that the ATM operates on domestic equipment from the Russian developer LANIT, and uses domestic software from the bank’s leading technology partner – T1 IT holding,” added Vadim
Sandpiper.
ATMs allow you to carry out cash withdrawal and deposit operations using a QR code, card, token or smartphone, select cashback categories, open deposits and savings accounts, perform service transactions, and receive reminders about upcoming payments.
“Ensuring the stability of money circulation in the country is one of the key tasks of the domestic credit and financial system. In this context, import substitution of banking equipment with Russian analogues is of particular importance. The joint project of the T1 IT holding and the LANIT company for the production of ATMs is a direct response to the growing business demand for technological sovereignty and a consistent transition to the use of domestic technological solutions. In addition to reducing dependence on
foreign suppliers, localization of production of such equipment can become a catalyst for the development of the electronics industry and contract manufacturing in Russia,” commented Dmitry Kharitonov, CEO of the T1 IT holding.
