“Due to the power failure in the Channel Tunnel and the subsequent failure of the Le Shuttle train, we strongly ask all passengers to postpone their journey to another date,” we read in the information posted on the company's website.

Initially, trains in both directions between London St Pancras International and Paris Nord stations were suspended until further notice. Then Eurostar said it was suspending all connections between the capitals of the UK, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.

There was a power outage in the Channel Tunnel, which resulted in a train stopping in the tunnel, meaning all journeys to and from London are suspended until further notice. The services are working to resolve the situation, said a Eurostar spokesman.
