On Sunday, December 28, in a ceremony organized in Dubai, the Globe Soccer Awards gala took place. In a special evening, the biggest stars in the world of football gathered in the United Arab Emirates.

Footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lamine Yamal, Ousmane Dembele or Vitinha were decorated for the whole of 2025. Awards were also given for the best teams of this year, as well as the best coaches.

Portugal, named the best national team of 2025

In a year full of successes, including the Nations League and the U17 World Championship, Portugal has been named the best national team of 2025.

Pedro Proença, president of the Portuguese Football Federation, was present at the gala in Dubai to receive the award and spoke a few words, recalling the passing of Jorge Costa, Diogo Jota and Andre Silva, while also focusing on winning the 2026 World Cup.

“It is an honor to receive this award. It was a very busy year, we lost two great legends in Portugal, Jorge Costa and Diogo Jota. And the second part of the year was fantastic for Portuguese football.

We have been to six international competition finals, won five and continue to create talent. We have the best player in the world so it's fantastic how much our little country continues to create. It is something that will continue and I can attest that Portugal will win again“, said the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Jorge Mendes, the best player agent

Jorge Mendes was once again named the best agent of the year. Jorge Mendes competed for the award with Ali Rabat, Federico Pastorello, Fali Ramadani and Frank Trimboli.

Shortly after, another Portuguese was awarded. Luis Campos has overtaken Barcelona's Deco to be named the best sporting director in the world after a successful year in charge of Paris Saint Germain.

Raphinha, the best player in La Liga

Barcelona dominated the Globe Soccer Awards Gala with its players scooping numerous awards and Raphinha was named La Liga's best player in 2025.

The team's coach, Hansi Flick, was named the best technician. Lamine Yamal was awarded the best U23 player award.

Lamine Yamal, the best U23 footballer of 2025

Barcelona were named team of the season in La Liga after winning the title. Barca won the title in emphatic fashion, right from Hansi Flick's first campaign in charge of the team.

Vitinha, named the best midfielder in the world in 2025

Vitinha has been named the best midfielder in the world in 2025. The Portugal international beat compatriot and fellow Paris Saint Germain player Joao Neves, as well as Bellingham, Pedri and Palmer, at the Globe Soccer Awards.

“It's a pleasure to be here, to receive this award, it means a lot to me. Thank you to everyone at Paris Saint Germain, the president, the coach, the teammates, they were very important for this, the same with the national team.

To my agent, Jorge Mendes, and most importantly, my family. It's an honor to win this award and I thank everyone,” Vitinha said on stage.

On the other hand, Joao Neves was beaten by his colleague Desire Doue for the trophy of the best young player in the world.

Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has again been named the best player in the Middle East in 2025.

“Thank you for this award. For me it is a great pleasure to see players, presidents, agents. I've been to this gala many times, it's one of my favorites because we see so many people.

I thank my family, my colleagues. It's hard to keep playing, but the passion is stronger for me,” said the Portuguese, also aiming for 1,000 career goals, 44 away.

“I'm still very motivated to keep going. It doesn't matter where I play, I always like to play, to score, to win trophies. I want to keep going. You know what my goal is, I want to win more trophies and reach the number you all know and I will definitely reach it.

I hope I don't have any injuries. It was wonderful, thank you very much and Happy New Year,” added Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ousmane Dembele, the best footballer in the world in 2025

Ousmane Dembele is the best footballer in the world at the Globe Soccer Awards. The Ballon d'Or awarded itself yet another individual trophy.

The Frenchman thanked everyone who helped him reach this level and admitted that he is emotional at the moment. “It was an exceptional year with PSG. It was not easy, especially to win the Champions League. The first part of the season was complicated, but we did an excellent job“, said the attacker.

Dembele beat four other top contenders, including teammate Vitinha, who was named the best midfielder of the year, as well as Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Kylian Mbappé.
