Creotech Instruments has a contract for the implementation of the PIONIER-Q-SAT project for the construction of a cross-border quantum key distribution link based on a mobile ground station for the European Commission, represented by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency – the company announced in a press release.

The project will be implemented in a consortium led by the Scientific and Academic Computer Network – National Research Institute (NASK).

As stated, Creotech Instruments is a member of the consortium and will be responsible for key components of the QKD optical ground station (QKD receiver developed together with the Military University of Technology (WAT), single photon detectors, support for integration and launch of the station).

The value of the project is approximately EUR 9.9 million, with most of the project budget going to infrastructure and equipment purchases, while Creotech's work will account for approximately EUR 0.4 million.

The planned implementation period of the project starts on January 1, 2026 and will last 42 months. (PAP Business)
