“Avoid the area.” Last minute appeal of the Minister of Health to Bucharest residents, after the major fire on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard

The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, sent a series of recommendations to the residents of Bucharest on Sunday, following the violent fire, with large columns of smoke, produced at a warehouse in the area of Iuliu Maniu Boulevard.
“Avoid the affected area; people nearby are asked to close windows and ventilation systems to reduce the risk of smoke poisoning; follow the instructions of the authorities,” wrote Rogobete, in a message published on his Facebook page.
“ISU Bucharest-Ilfov firefighters intervene to extinguish a fire that broke out at a storage space located on Bulevardul Iuliu Maniu, Sector 6. The fire manifests itself with an open flame and large releases of smoke, at a warehouse of sanitary and thermal equipment. The total area of the hall is approximately 2,000 square meters, and due to the dense smoke, the exact affected area cannot be estimated at this moment,” the minister said.
“Until this moment, no casualties have been reported. The mission is dynamic, and the intervention teams are acting to locate and extinguish the fire, as well as to limit the effects on the neighboring areas”, stated Alexandru Rogobete.
Moreover, the authorities issued a second RO-Alert message on Sunday to inform the population of sectors 5 and 6 of the Capital, following the major fire on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard.
The fire broke out at Black Sea Suppliers, a company that sells equipment and materials for heating, air conditioning and gas installations. The warehouse is located on Iuliu Maniu boulevard, towards the exit from Bucharest, towards the A1 highway.
The flames are manifested, with large releases of smoke, inside a storage space, on an area of approximately 800 square meters, according to ISU Bucharest Ilfov.
They burn sanitary materials, plastics and other combustible materials, for extinguishing the fire a circular intervention device was made.
Firefighters intervene with 16 fire trucks and a robot transport truck.
