The great French actress Brigitte Bardot died at the age of 91, according to an announcement made by the foundation that bears her name, AFP informs.
Brigitte Bardot, actress who became famous in the 60s and fervent supporter of animal rights, announced on Sunday the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.
“The Brigitte Bardot Foundation announces with great sadness the death of its founder and president, Ms. Brigitte Bardot, a world-renowned actress and singer, who chose to abandon her prestigious career to dedicate her life and energy to the protection of animals,” says the Foundation's statement, which does not specify the exact date and place of death.
Brigitte Bardot left her mark on cinema more than half a century ago, leaving behind around 50 films and scenes that went down in film history.
