Oana Țoiu reaffirms Romania's support for Ukraine and condemns Russia's attacks: “It is a campaign of terror against the civilian population of Ukraine”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Țoiu, sent a message on Saturday, December 27, emphasizing Romania's solidarity with Ukraine. She stated that, “while leaders in the US, EU and Ukraine work for peace, Moscow responds by killing and terrorizing women, children and entire families.

“We express our solidarity with Ukraine, which continues to face Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, educational facilities and residential areas in Kiev. Dozens of civilians have lost their lives and large parts of the capital have been left without heating in the middle of winter and over the Christmas period.
This is a campaign of terror against the civilian population of Ukraine and has been part of Russia's brutal strategy from the beginning.” the Foreign Minister sent in a post on X.
Oana Țoiu adds that Romania firmly supports Ukraine in terms of sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and emphasizes the importance of respecting international law and protecting civilians.
“While US, EU and Ukrainian leaders work for peace, Moscow responds by killing and terrorizing women, children and entire families. Stopping such unjustified destruction is precisely why we stand united in support of a lasting and just peace in Ukraine.” he also forwarded this.
Recently, Kiev was the target of another massive Russian missile and drone attack on the night of Friday into Saturday, shortly after President Volodymyr Zelenskiy announced his visit to the United States.
Explosions were heard in several districts of Kyiv, and authorities confirmed strikes in at least seven districts of the city.
The provisional balance indicates 19 injured people, 11 of whom were hospitalized. Among the victims are two children, one of whom is 16 years old. The rest of the injured received medical care on the spot or on an outpatient basis.
