He stopped smoking only two years ago, at 76, when everything was already very bad. By his own admission, it was as if he lived with a plastic bag on his head. The director never regretted that he had been smoking since he was 8 (!!!) years old. He honestly admitted: he loves this business, and in the morning there is nothing tastier than a cigarette with coffee. In an interview, he advised me to give up bad habits, preferably earlier than they can kill you.
The death of a genius was commented on by his family.
“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of the man and artist David Lynch. We would appreciate privacy at this time. There is a big hole in the world now that he is no longer with us. But, as he would say, 'Keep an eye on the donut, not the hole.'
