Hot chocolate is the perfect way to warm up on cold winter days and treat yourself to a sweet treat. This thick, rich drink gives energy and lifts your spirits. It can be served to both children and adults, creating a cozy atmosphere during festive moments.
To prepare it, use a bar of high-quality dark or dark chocolate. To make the drink especially thick, starch is added. If you don't have chocolate on hand, you can use cocoa powder, although the taste will be slightly different. Hot chocolate is traditionally served with marshmallows or whipped cream, which gives it a special airiness.
Hot chocolate recipe:
- Milk – 500 ml
- Corn or potato starch (or flour) – 1 tsp.
- Dark chocolate (70%) – 120 g
- Sugar – 2 tbsp. l.
Preparation:
- Crumble the chocolate into small pieces.
- In a saucepan, bring milk to a low simmer over medium heat, stirring.
- When the milk starts to boil, add the chocolate and continue stirring until it is completely dissolved.
- Add sugar and flour (or starch). To prevent the flour from forming lumps, it can be pre-dissolved in a small amount of hot milk.
- Once the chocolate has thickened, pour it into cups and serve hot, garnished with marshmallows or cream.
