“Currently, we have already signed three letters of intent for facilities in some of the largest Polish cities, such as Warsaw, Katowice and Kraków. Next year we plan to secure another 7-10 locations. The development of PadelCity in Poland is strategic for us in the perspective of becoming the largest padel operator in Europe,” says Piotr Łagowski.
“Due to our plans for dynamic development on the Polish market, we are very actively looking for well-located warehouse, sports or retail spaces with an area of 2,000 to 4,000 sq m and a minimum height of 8 meters. In addition to strategically acquiring top locations, we are also building a local operational team,” adds Piotr Łagowski.
What is padel
Padel is a racket sport that is a combination of tennis and squash. Matches are usually played in doubles, on a 10 x 20 m court, surrounded by glass and metal walls. The game uses unstrung rackets with perforations and balls similar to tennis balls, but with lower pressure, which makes them more calm and controlled.
It is estimated that several dozen new padel courts are added every year in Poland.
“Experiences from Spain and Sweden show that padel can become a mass sport, and Poland has exceptionally large growth potential,” says Piotr Łagowski. Over the last few years, padel has become the second most popular sport in Spain, with over 5 million players, second only to soccer.
