According to the portal, the investigation concerns the process of obtaining MBA diplomas at the Management Academy of Applied Sciences, then headed by Paweł C., who is currently one of the suspects in the Collegium Humanum case as the former rector of this university. False certificates of completion of MBA, bachelor's and master's studies were to be used to obtain positions on supervisory boards of State Treasury companies. In Rościszewski's case, it was about unauthorized use of an MBA diploma to sit on the supervisory board of Bank Pocztowy, owned by Poczta Polska.
The ambassador in Paris, Jan Emeryk Rościszewski, then provided a statement in which, among other things, he agreed to publish his full name. In the statement, the diplomat also declared that he had never studied at Collegium Humanum and was not a graduate of this university.
“I have never studied and am not a graduate of Collegium Humanum. I have completed numerous studies and postgraduate courses, including at the Catholic University of Lublin, the prestigious SciencesPo in Paris and the University of Management. During my professional career, I have sat on numerous supervisory boards, including companies from the PKO group, before obtaining a diploma issued by WSM in Warsaw,” he wrote.
Rościszewski also assured that he did not receive any remuneration for this work “sitting on the supervisory boards of PKO BP subsidiaries”.
He added that “after providing extensive explanations” he was released. “I declare full cooperation with the prosecutor's office and I hope that the matter will be clarified as soon as possible,” the diplomat said.
According to the Goniec.pl portal, Jan Rościszewski was supposed to obtain an MBA diploma despite not having completed the necessary studies. “In his case, the prosecutor's office is focusing on the use of an MBA diploma, which was issued despite the lack of real studies and used in the process of taking up positions in State Treasury companies, including on the supervisory board of Bank Pocztowy, owned by Poczta Polska. The ambassador pleaded not guilty and was to hear several charges, including the use of a forged document,” the portal reported.
When asked about the ambassador's case, MFA spokesman Maciej Wewiór told PAP earlier on Wednesday that the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, decided to relieve the ambassador from managing the post until all doubts were clarified. — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs does not comment on the activities of the services or the justice system. The ambassador began his mission in spring 2022. Due to the situation, he put himself at the minister's disposal, Wewiór said.
Jan Emeryk Rościszewski managed PKO BP from June to October 2021.
