The Department of Emergency Situations called for “responsibility and caution on the slopes” Thursday morning in a post offering some advice for those practicing winter sports.
“Winter vacation brings the joy of snow and time spent in the mountains. In order for these moments to remain pleasant and incident-free, it is important that every winter sports practitioner shows caution and responsibility on the slopes,” wrote DSU, Thursday morning, on Facebook.
The DSU said that “rescuers recommend using appropriate equipment, adapting the speed and style of descent to the conditions on the slope, following the signage and ski rules, and avoiding the use of improvised means of sliding.”
“In the event of an accident, call 112. For detailed information, guidelines and prevention recommendations, we invite you to access the platforms fiipregatit.ro and salvamontromania.ro”, DSU concluded.
Rescuers have not received requests for interventions
The Salvamont National Dispatch says that in the last 24 hours it has not received requests for interventions.
“We received 15 calls requesting advice and information about different tourist routes in the mountain area. The Salvamont Romania teams urge you to exercise caution and responsibility in mountain activities and invite you to join them in the campaign to reduce the number of mountain accidents. We wish you a nice day on the mountain paths!” Salvamont Romania wrote on Facebook on Thursday morning.
