In the North, surgeons removed a record amount of skin and fat tissue

In Noyabrsk, doctors removed 26 kilograms of excess skin and fat tissue from a man. As Yamal 1 reports, this became a record in Russian practice.

A resident of Yamal was admitted to the hospital as planned from Gubkinsky. With a height of 175 centimeters, his weight was 180 kilograms. Due to the huge fold of fat on the abdomen, which reached below the knees, the patient developed tissue necrosis and chronic inflammation, which created a direct threat to life.

The goal of the surgeons was not only to remove excess mass, but also to eliminate the source of chronic infection, preventing life-threatening complications. The operation lasted four hours and was completed successfully.

The patient felt a positive effect almost immediately: already on the first day it became easier for him to breathe, as the load on the chest decreased. The pressure on the spine and joints also decreased, which speeded up rehabilitation. A week after the operation, the man was discharged from the hospital for further recovery.
