Minister Radu Miruță's message on the occasion of Christmas: “There are people, military and civilian personnel, who spend Christmas away from their families”
The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruţă, sent a message on Wednesday, December 24, to all the soldiers who are spending the holidays away from home, thanking them for the sacrifice they are making.

“Christmas is, by tradition, a family celebration. And this year, I have the joy of being with my family and reminding myself how important simple things are: a kind word, a meal with loved ones, a hug. From my children I learn, day by day, how much magic lies in small gestures.
But I am well aware that not all my colleagues have this privilege. There are people, military and civilian personnel, who spend Christmas away from their families, on missions in the country and across borders. I thank them for the sacrifice they make, for the mission they undertake with responsibility and courage”, Miruta transmits.
Radu Miruţă asked all Romanians to send “a good thought to those who watch for our safety, far from those they love”.
“My thoughts also go out to war veterans, theater veterans, military personnel in reserve or retirement. We owe them more than words – we owe them gratitude and respect for the courage and devotion with which they served Romania.
It is my first Christmas as part of the big family of the Romanian Army. A community that welcomed me with respect, trust and a spirit of camaraderie that I deeply value. In a constantly changing world, let's not forget how important loyalty and mutual support are”the minister also sent.
According to him, “Christmas is also a time of reflection, a time to return to the values that hold us together: duty to the country, respect for others, sincere concern for those around us”.
“If you find respite these days, think of those you can rely on and cherish them. Dear colleagues, I wish you and your families health, peace and the strength to look forward with hope to what lies ahead.
Merry Christmas! Holidays with joy in the soul and in the mind of all those who serve Romania, wherever they are”, the Minister of Defense concluded his Christmas message.
